My name is Łukasz Szubiński and I am a conference interpreter, member of the Polish Association of Conference Interpreters (PSTK: http://pstk.org.pl/user/lukasz.szubinski/) as well as Verband der Konferenzdolmetscher im Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer (VKD im BDÜ, Germany: http://mitglieder.bdue.de/11887). I provide interpretation, in the consecutive and simultaneous modes, between Polish, English and German languages. When interpreting, I’m a companion to my clients through events which matter to them a lot. I pay attention, so that the words get across, whilst the intent is grasped as meant. I tend to understanding, impression and image. That’s an important role to play. If you set out to hold a specialised conference, a festive gala or key negotiations in a Polish-English or Polish-German language setting, whereby you’d need a competent aid – you’ve just come up in the right spot.
My competences are a result of relevant education (MA in Conference Interpreting from the University of Warsaw), further language training (e.g. a CELI 5 Italian proficiency certificate by Università per gli Stranieri di Perugia), taking part in specialised courses for interpreters and translators (e.g. in Italian economic law) as well as tailor-made workshops (e.g. on diplomatic protocol), work as an interpreter trainer (e.g. in note-taking techniques in consecutive interpretation from Italian into Polish), conscientious preparations preceding each and every new job, plus: from experience encompassing hundreds of days in the booth and with an interpreter’s notepad. That’s all what makes up your warrant of quality. Quality comes first. Therefore: ‘Q Interpreting’.
